A reporter asked me why I work on TV and what I find satisfying about my work. Honestly, I love my job. At the end of the day, my wish is that I can reach at least one person who needed to be reached at that time, on that day. Right after production on my talk show Wedlock or Deadlock ended, one of the audience members reached out to me to tell me how much watching me talk to the couples affected her and changed her thinking about her life and her relationship. That made my day! Even she acknowledged that she never intended to be affected, but that somehow my message to others got through to her too!
I remember times in my own life when I needed a sympathetic ear or an inspirational message to keep me going. Sometimes it was at those moments that I heard something on TV or read something in a book that I thought was a message that was tailor made for me. It is my hope that I can provide that same inspiration or motivation to someone else by showing up on their TV screen at just the moment that they needed to hear what I had to say. Or I hope that they stumble across my book Ms. Typed right at the time when they needed to know that they are not alone in this crazy game called love. I don’t believe in coincidences anyway. I know that I was put here to help people get from where they are to where they are meant to be. So when the opportunity to do so presents itself, I accept the challenge with great enthusiasm.
I hope you have a great day!!
